With the addition of invert sugar No2 and a 2hr boil the caramel notes have developed even further. Hopped entirely with English whole leaf varieties, Challenger and Bramling Cross, they’ve really pushed the hedgerow berry character and the spicy, bitter finish.

BREWPOINT

Anchorman

A modern, fresh and fruity cask beer brewed using a blend of contemporary English ingredients with American late-hopping. This blockbusting beer begins with a gentle malt sweetness, leading to a lingering, bitter finish.

The story behind the name… Josephine is the unsung hero of our story and the love of Charlie’s life. In the same way, he was her ‘Anchorman’. Charlie is central to our brewing story, a dependable family-man with a visionary outlook. With Josephine by his side, the wind was in his sails and a family brewing business became firmly anchored in Bedford.  Well

NETHERGATE BREWERY

Wild Fox

Wild Fox is one of those seasonals that always turns heads when it makes a return. Bright and straw-coloured in the glass, it’s brewed with a mix of Boadicea, Azacca, Amarillo and Cascade hops for a layered, modern pale ale.

Expect soft floral notes from the British Boadicea, a tropical lift from Azacca, citrus zest from Amarillo, and Cascade’s signature grapefruit twist — all coming together in a smooth, balanced finish that’s as moreish as they come.

Crisp, light, and quietly adventurous — a seasonal worth hunting down.

NEW RIVER BREWERY

Lost River

Sometimes described as one of London’s “lost rivers”, the New River glides silently into London, often hidden from passers-by, particularly where it tunnels beneath the streets. This delicately dry hopped, pale straw coloured beer is, similarly, wonderfully discrete and easily swallowed up, so the name is a perfect fit!

NORTHERN MONK

Sup

Pours an amber gold with an off white finger thick head that leaves no lacing. The smell is lightly hoppy , with a little citrus loitering and the taste follows this with a heft of sweet malt included. The mouthfeel is decent with medium carbonation.
Overall, a good low abv beer , at 3.4% this doesn’t suffer of the flavour front at all. Quaffable, malt heavy and without much notable bitterness this is very easy to drink.

STRANGERS BREWING

New Shoots

New Shoots is named after its not-so-secret ingredient; the fresh tips from larch, spruce and pine trees, gathered in the spring and added to the beer. Young conifer tips give fresh grassy and citrus notes (as well as light piney, resinous flavours), and these align beautifully with the American hop varieties we’ve used. Wonderfully quaffable in the sunshine.

This beer is brewed with barley malt, but has been crafted to remove any gluten present in the finished beer. Independent testing shows that the beer is verified gluten free.
