Friday's Music

Friday Night Live

Kick off the festival weekend with big sounds and local talent.

Friday sets the tone with an exciting evening of live music from some of St Albans’ favourite performers. Get ready for the smooth sounds of Nick Byrne and the high-energy, crowd-pleasing set from Pat & The Butchers. It’s the perfect soundtrack to your first pint – or your third!

20:00 - 22:00

Pat & The Butchers

Pat & The Butchers are a four or five piece covers band based in St Albans – if you don’t know them, then you really don’t know St Albans! They play the best in upbeat party music from all decades and genres chosen to please all audiences – especially those who want to dance! (what in church? yes, get over it….)

Their anything-but-shy, full-on front-woman ‘Pat’ is guaranteed to get any crowd engaged and up and moving and the musicianship is top notch. There really is something for everyone at one of their gigs!

This is their first time at the festival – and it will make this year’s opening night like no other!

18:30

Nick Byrne

Buckinghamshire based Nick Byrne blends poignant melancholia and thoughtful lyricism into a contemporary mix of indie-folk nostalgia.

2020 singles Houses and Summer Rain showcased his capability for fingerpicked acoustica, drawing comparisons with Novo Amor and Keaton Henson. Championed by the likes of Mahogany, they drew praise for its inspiring lyricism and emotional delivery.

Nick forst joined us at St Saviour’s for the 2021 Festival and we are pleased to have him back on board!
