HARVEST THANKSGIVING SERVICE

A service for all ages, giving thanks for the beauty of creation and “all good gifts around us” – the service will include the presentation of donated items for the St Albans District Foodbank.  Please bring your donations to the service, or leave them in church at any point over the weekend – thank you!

Laura Dannan

Laura is a singer songwriter from St Albans. Her unique style & quirky insight into subjects such as having a midlife crisis, being addicted to chocolate, and a love of romantic stories, makes for entertaining listening. When she’s not writing songs Laura enjoys playing the drums and has a highly regarded drummer series on YouTube called Drum Quest where she chats to top players in the industry. She has interviewed some of the best, including Steve Gadd, Simon Philips, Steve White, Richard Bailey & Andy Gangadeen to name a few.

She is also founder and host of The Flying Squirrels Club that promotes local singer songwriters & original artists.

 The Peace Lilies

Indie folk/pop duo – Jacqui Dee and Gary Sanford. Gary was the original guitarist with Joe Jackson, and combining Jacqui’s writing and Gary’s feel for rhythms and emotionally charged guitar melodies, they create a unique sound. Not to be missed!

Vik

Pronounced Veek, Vik is the creative output of singer/songwriter Jess Distill and guitarist Nick Losse. Described as ‘Norse Gothic’, Vik is born of wanderlust and a love for the Icelandic landscape. Jess’ spellbinding words weave around Nick’s ethereal guitars, resulting in a haunting modern take on classic folk themes. Expect murder, love, witchcraft, and a few surprises along the way!

Gabz

Gabz is a singer/songwriter from St Albans who loves performing and writing original music. She recently impressed with her set at the Jersey Farm Woodland Park Jubilee Festival, and is looking forward to returning to St Saviour’s having played at this year’s Beer & Fizz Festival!

Leah Cooke

Leah is based in St Albans and Bristol, asnd has just returned from a year abroad. During her travels she bought a cheap guitar from a guy called Carlos and continued to practice, eager to return to the St Albans music scene! She made her debut at some open mic sessions in Oxfordshire earlier in 2022 where she won praise for her ‘easy-going vibe’.

Oman Dawn

Oman (Amy) Dawn is a London based singer songwriter who grew up in Gosport. Inspired mostly by alternative folk music, her songs blend intimate story with hypnotic, fingerpicked guitar. Here in St Albans she will be joined by the talented guitarist, harpist and also songwriter himself, Tony Pigram.

Becky & Mike: The Buskers

Rebecca Turner and Michael Goulding are an acoustic songwriting duo, performing their work about love, loss and societal issues. They have played as a duo all over London, and are known for their melodic sound and harmonies. Becky is an experienced pianist and Mike plays acoustic guitar.
